WP Puppetry Residency

This week in Room 12, students were excited to begin their work with WP Puppet Theatre. This residency will have students participating in three hands-on sessions with Mrs. Wendy. Work in the classroom will lead up to students sharing live puppet performances with a few different audiences. Families of Room 12, please stay tuned for your own invitation to come see the live show on Wednesday, February 28th. A huge thank you to our amazing Andrew Sibbald Parent Association for covering the cost of this learning experience.

Students began their puppet residency by creating the bases of their puppets using various materials based on the anchor text, “The Colour Monster”. Our work with this puppet residency will be cross-curricular, as it will address not only well-being outcomes from the Curriculum but also from the English Language Arts and Literacy and Fine Arts Curriculums. We look forward to this wonderful learning opportunity and to going more in-depth with our critical and creative thinking over the coming weeks. Later, as students work towards transferring their oral ideas to paper, you will find a post on our blog that highlights the writing process.
